WOW - I'm not very good at keeping this up to date am I. I'm not even sure anyone reads this - but just in case I thought I would post what we have been up too. If nothing else it could serve as a nice record of what we have done.
So I really believed things would be simpler once she gave up her International title - but that isn't exactly how it worked out... In August we flew to NYC for Kennedy to audition for the national tour of Annie. It was a really great experience and I am so glad we did it! Just the two of us inNYC for 2 days. We went to the Natural Muesuem of History and went to see Mary Poppins on Broadway! AMAZING! Kennedy made it all the way to the final round of auditions - never got cut. They sent us on our way and said we will call if you get a part. We obviously never got a call but it was a great experience!
Kennedy started dance in September and she is LOVING it! She takes Tap, Hip Hop, Jazz, Ballet, Lyrical and Competition class. She is only competing in 1 dance and her group has done 2 competitions. They are competing as novice this year since this is their first year competing and they have done well with a 2nd place and a 1st place Novice finish. =)
In the November/December/Jan time frame Kennedy was in Annie Jr with the Hi-Liners. the show was the first part of January and she LOVED it! She played the part of Kate and had a blast being on stage again! I think this is really her thing...
Back to September - Kennedy competed in NAM where she won Talent, Casual wear and Actress. She also placed 2ru overall. We attended Nationals in November and she won Spokesmodel, 1st runner up in talent and top 10 overall. We had an amazing time with our friends at nationals - all around good time!
In February Kennedy auditioned for Seussical jr. She was cast as the Sour Kangaroo which actually fits her personality to a T! The show opens April 15th and just runs that one weekend. She is loving it of course! It has been a real challenge balancing dance and theater though. She has a class of some sort every day except for Friday and Sunday.
The most wonderful news is that she made it to the top 3 in her class for the spelling bee - so she competes at the school level tomorrow.... I haven't made her study or anything - so just crossing my fingers she isn't the first one out. =)
That's the super short version.. in case anyone is out there.... =)
